What we need more of in Melbourne CBD
I am now working in the city centre, which is lovely, but there are some amenities that the 3000 postcode area is sorely in need of:
- 7/11s There are entire city blocks that only have two or three 24-hour convenience stores on them. This is really not good enough. How can we call ourselves an international city when a visitor might need to walk as far as 30 metres to buy a packet of smokes at four in the morning?
- Franchised coffee shops and juice bars Sure, if I want to drink a mega-sized caramel latte washed down with a banana and mango smoothie during my 15 minute morning tea break, I have options. But some sort of auditing is surely in order to ensure that everyone has the same opportunities, even if they work in the legal district. Get on it, John So!
- Mobile phone outlets Where oh where can one buy a mobile phone in the city? It’s a real problem.
